20. Temperature controlled Articles of Transport

In case of a temperature controlled Article of Transport, packed by or on behalf of the Merchant, the latter undertakes that the Article of Transport has been properly pre-cooled, the Goods have been properly stowed and that its thermostatic controls and air vents have been adequately set before receipt of the Goods by the Carrier. While electric power is supplied on board or ashore to Articles of Transport, the Carrier has no responsibility whatsoever for the functioning of temperature controlled Articles of Transport and shall therefore not be liable for any loss of or damage to the Goods howsoever arising.
The Carrier shall not be obliged to provide for refrigerated storage ashore.
