1. Definition

"Carrier" is Cabo Shipping Lines B.V.
"Merchant" Includes the shipper, the receiver, the consignor, the consignee, the Holder of any document evidencing the Contract of Carriage and the owner of the goods.
"Article of Transport", includes, unless otherwise indicated, any vehicle, container, flat, pallet, trailer, transportable tank and similar items used for the consolidation of goods as well as timber packages.
"Goods" includes, unless otherwise indicated, the Article of Transport as well as the contents thereof.
"Hague Rules" means the provisions of the International Convention for the Unification of certain rules relating to Bills of Lading, dated in Brussels the 25th August 1924 and includes the amendments by the Protocol signed at Brussels on the 23rd February 1968 ("The Hague Visby Rules") together with the Protocol in relation to SDR signed at Brussels on the 21st December 1979, but only if such amendments and protocols are compulsorily applicable to the contract of carriage of goods by sea or to any document evidencing such contract of carriage.
